Vyapam scam: CBI files chargesheet against two accused in the case
The investigators said the candidate and the middleman helped 29 aspirants crack admission tests to medical courses though forgery and impersonation.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed chargesheet against two people in connection with the multi-crore Vyapam scam, reported PTI. The case is related to alleged irregularities in various entrance and recruitment examinations conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, also known as Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam).
The investigators have accused a candidate and a middleman of helping 29 aspirants crack pre-medical tests to secure admission to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur through forgery and impersonation in 2009, 2009 and 2010.
The middleman, who was absconding since the local police filed a First Information Report against him, was arrested in May. He is in judicial custody right now. "The investigation revealed that the candidate took the assistance of one impersonator in the written examination of PMT-2009 with the help of middleman." a CBI spokesperson said.
