Three Border Security Force personnel and a militant were killed in a gun battle on Monday near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, reported PTI. The Northern Command of the Indian Army also confirmed the deaths on Twitter, adding that the operation in Macchil sector is still underway.

An Army official told PTI that the security forces launched the operation after getting a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area. In the last three weeks there have been at least four infiltration attempts in which seven militants have been killed, reported The Hindu.
