Delhi: Two police officers injured in two-hour shootout in Rohini
All the five members of the gang, who were on their way to rob a property dealer, have been arrested.
Two policeman were injured during a shootout with criminals in Delhi’s Rohini area on Sunday, reported ANI. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikramjeet Singh confirmed the incident, reported PTI. Two of the gang members – Sudhir and Vijay – also suffered injuries during the two-hour-long encounter that started around 10.30 am.
According to NDTV, the encounter ensued when the gang was on its way to rob a property dealer. The Delhi Police acted on a tip-off and intercepted their car in Begumpur area. When the police were about to arrest them, the men opened fire in retaliation.
All the five men – Sudhir, Vijay, Sanjay, Farman and Sunny – have been arrested. The injured have been admitted to hospital.
