The terminals were evacuated, and authorities began a search operation soon after the reports emerged.
Police said they did not find a shooter after reports of gunfire at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday night, according to AP. Spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department Andy Neiman said on Twitter that the reports of a shooting at LAX had turned out to be "loud noises", and they were trying to locate the source. He also confirmed that "no shots were fired".
Passengers waited at the tarmac after the terminals at the airport were evacuated and the LAPD began search operations. Authorities also stopped air traffic from entering the airport.
