Nico Rosberg survived a tremendous final surge from Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo to win the Singapore Grand Prix and take an eight-point lead in the World Drivers' Championship against his Mercedes teammate and rival, Lewis Hamilton.

The German got off to a terrific start in the game, while Hamilton, just like in the qualifying race, stuttered. The Briton made three pitstops, but that didn't go on to have a bearing in the contest, which was dictated by Rosberg and Ricciardo.

Around the 40th lap, Hamilton made a brief comeback in the game, but Ricciardo was in fine form in the last few laps. The Australian also recorded the fastest lap time in the game and cut into Rosberg's lead by 16 seconds. Rosberg, however, held on to finish on top of the podium.
