India’s medal tally at junior shooting World Cup rises to 13, including one gold
The country now stands second in the rankings, with Russia leading the table.
India’s medal tally at the junior shooting World Cup rose by six on Monday, taking the total count to 13, PTI reported. Shooters won one gold, two silver and three bronze, meaning India was second to only Russia in the medal tally at the International Shooting Sport Federation Junior World Cup.
The gold medal was won by Yashaswani Singh Deswal, Malaika Goel and Harshada Nithave, who combined their scores for a total of 1122 at the women’s 10-metre Air Pistol event. Gaurav Rana, Hemendra Kushwah and Saurabh Chaudhary won the silver medal at the men’s edition of the event. India also won an individual silver in the event.
The country also won a bronze medal in the women’s 50-metre Rifle 3 Positions event. A trio of shooters won a bronze medal in a skeet shooting event. Shooters won seven medals including three golds on day one of the event to place India on top of the scoring table for that day.
