At least six children died on Tuesday after their school bus fell into a drain in Muhawa village near Amritsar in Punjab, reported ANI. Amritsar superintendent of police (rural) said 37 children, mostly from kindergarten, were aboard the bus.

According to NDTV, 10 of the injured children have been taken to a hospital in Amritsar and rescue operations are on to find the others. The police said the accident took place after the bus driver lost control of the vehicle. The bus was on its way to Attari to drop the students to their homes, reported The Tribune.

On Monday, at least 35 people died in a similar bus accident in Bihar’s Madhubani district. The bus, carrying 65 people, fell into a 25-foot-deep pond.
