United States: Eight injured in Baltimore shooting, three gunmen at large, say police
There is evidence to suggest the incident was retaliation for a separate shooting on September 5.
Eight people, including a three-year-old girl, were injured in a shooting in the United States city of Baltimore, The Baltimore Sun reported on Saturday night. Police officials said three gunmen were responsible for the attack and that they were still at large.
The official said the three assailants approached a group of people in front of a house in the city’s Preston Street area and opened fire. Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said none of the injuries were life-threatening. Davis further said police had gathered enough evidence to prove the incident was in retaliation for a separate shooting on September 5, the country’s Labor Day, holiday.
Meanwhile, the Washington State Patrol on Saturday night said they had captured the gunman who had left five people dead in a mall in Seattle earlier in the day. The incident took place at the Cascade mall, around 107 km north of Seattle. Four women were killed at the mall, and a man died of his injuries in hospital. The police have not revealed further details, and have maintained that his motivations remain unclear.
