Donald Trump’s new Washington hotel spray-painted with ‘Black Lives Matter’ graffiti
The luxury hotel is just a few blocks down from the White House.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s new hotel in Washington DC was spray-painted with “Black Lives Matter” and “No Justice, No Peace”, on Saturday. Reports said the act at Trump International Hotel was caught on CCTV camera. Pictures of it have spread widely in social media, along with the image of a police officer taking a picture of the graffiti. The police are looking for the suspect.
Aquita Brown, spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department, said no arrests had been made yet but that they were looking for a male suspect. The luxury hotel is on Pennsylvania Avenue, a few blocks away from the White House. Rooms start at $895 a night (Rs 59,500 approximately).
The United States presidential candidate and businessman had in July said the Black Lives Matter social justice movement had instigated recent killings of police officers. He also suggested that if elected, he would investigate the civil rights group. “They certainly have ignited people and you see that ... It's a very, very serious situation and we just can't let it happen,” he had told Fox News.
Trump will contest against Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton at the presidential polls on November 4. On Sunday, reports said he could have legally avoided paying taxes for up to 18 years.
