Eight people were arrested and gambling chips worth crores of rupees were seized during a police raid on an illegal casino in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj on Friday, NDTV reported. Officials said they received a tip-off about the illegal den. Senior police officer Nupur Prasad said, "We have arrested eight persons and seized nearly 3,000 tokens valued at several crores of rupees," NDTV reported.

On October 24, Delhi police officials said they arrested 36 people and seized gambling chips worth Rs 1,36,45,000 crore in a raid on an illegal gambling den in South Delhi's Sainik Farms, The Indian Express reported. They said around 11 luxury vehicles and 23 bottles of foreign liquor were also seized by the police.

The intelligence department has been directed to gather information about other illegal dens in Delhi. Casinos in the country are only legal in Goa, Sikkim and the Union territory of Daman, NDTV reported.
