Twitter's Asia Pacific vice president, Rishi Jaitly, quits
His resignation came at a time when the company's revenue growth nosedived for the eighth quarter with its user base stagnating.
The head of Twitter India, Rishi Jaitly, on Tuesday announced his resignation on the microblogging site. “Today, after four years of user/business momentum in India and the region, I’m sharing my intention to move on to new opportunities, same mission,” he tweeted.
Jaitly was the vice president for Twitter's Asia Pacific region, which includes India, West Asia and North Africa. A Twitter India's spokesperson told the Business Standard that Jaitly will continue till the end of November before he moves to Chicago. Jaitly had joined Twitter in 2012. Jaitly's resignation comes at a time when the company's revenue growth has nosedived for the eighth quarter and its user base is not growing anymore. Twitter also announced in October that it will lay off around 350 employees to cut down its costs, reported Moneycontrol.
