They were bowled out after adding just 71 runs to their tally, giving India a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series.
England fell to 115/6 before lunch with Ravichandran Ashwin taking the wicket of Ben Duckett and Ravindra Jadeja sending Moeen Ali packing. Then, Mohammed Shami got Joe Root trapped in front of the wickets. India wrapped up the match after lunch by taking the last three wickets, with Jayant Yadav finishing with figures of 3/30.
