Maharashtra: Four minors detained for raping 6-year-old girl in Pimpri-Chinchwad slum
The girl has been taken to hospital and is being given counselling, police said.
Four minor boys were detained in Maharashtra’s Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Sunday for raping a 6-year-old girl. On Saturday, the girl was playing in front of her house, in the Anna Saheb Magar slum, when she was taken away by the four boys and assaulted. She later told her parents about the incident, and they went to the police.
The police first detained one of the boys based on the girl’s description, and then found the other three, VV Muglikar, a senior inspector at Pimpri police station said. The child has been given medical care and is being taken for counselling, Muglikar said. Two of the boys go to a school in the area, he added.
The four accused were sent to a remand home after being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. They were between 10 and 14 years old, PTI reported.
