Sonia Gandhi recovers from viral fever, discharged from hospital
The 69-year-old Congress president is expected to take up her duties in Parliament soon.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on Wednesday. Gandhi had been admitted to the hospital on November 28 after she was diagnosed with a viral fever.
Dr Arun Basu, senior consultant, department of chest and pulmonology at the hospital told PTI that Gandhi has recovered.
This is the second time in the past couple of months that the 69-year-old Congress president has been hospitalised. In August, Gandhi had to cut short her Varanasi tour after she fell ill during a roadshow. She was admitted to the same hospital. Later, she underwent a shoulder surgery.
On November 29, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala had said that Gandhi will resume her duties in Parliament soon.
