Goa police file chargesheet against singer Remo Fernandes for verbally abusing a minor girl
The 2015 case is related to a road accident where the victim was knocked down by a car driven by the singer’s son, and later abused by him at a hospital.
The Goa police have filed a chargesheet against singer Remo Fernandes (pictured above in black) in connection with a a verbal abuse case involving a minor girl, reported PTI. The chargesheet was filed on Thursday. “We completed our investigation and filed the chargesheet before the Goa Children’s Court,” Police Inspector Uday Parab said.
The case is related to a road accident where a minor girl was injured by a car driven by the singer’s son near Old Goa Church complex, and later verbally abused by the Fernandes at a Panaji hospital where she was admitted for treatment. The accident took place on December 2, 2015. A First Information Report was lodged against Fernandes under relevant sections of the Goa Children’s Act at the time.
“The singer entered ward number 105 of Goa Medical Hospital on Friday between 3pm and 4pm and verbally abused the girl,” the girl’s lawyer had said in the complaint. The police had then said that “parallel investigation is under way against Remo’s son Jonah Fernandes”, reported The Indian Express.
