Delhi: Coach accused of spiking national shooter's drink, raping her
The complainant said he threatened to kill her when she confronted him about the incident.
A national-level shooter on Saturday said that her coach allegedly spiked her drink and raped her, PTI reported. A First Information Report has been filed against the accused at the Chanakyapuri police station.
The complainant said the accused, an Arjuna Award winner, had been training her for the past two years at the Sports Authority of India’s shooting range and that they were in a relationship, according to PTI. He had allegedly visited her residence on her birthday and offered her a drink spiked with a sedative. She alleged that he raped her while she was unconscious. The sportswoman said he had denied any promises to marry her and even threatened to kill her when she confronted him about raping her.
Officials said they have registered a complaint, and that the woman underwent a medical test that confirmed her rape, PTI reported.
