Musician AR Rahman has earned two spots in the tentative lists of nominations for the Academy Awards for his work in Pele: Birth of a Legend. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the tentative lists for the Original Song and Original Score categories on its official website on Tuesday. The final nominations for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced on January 24.

While Rahman’s music for the sporting icon’s biopic is one among the 145 shortlisted nominations in the Original Score category, the song Ginga is contesting with 90 others in the Original Song category.

The 89th Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 26. It will be televised live by the ABC Television Network in over 225 countries worldwide. Pele: Birth of a Legend, directed by Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist, showcases the early life of the Brazilian footballer and how he went on to become a legend.
