Video streaming service HotStar's Twitter account hacked
Tweets with various pop culture references were sent out from the account, though no one claimed the breach.
Video streaming service HotStar’s Twitter account appeared to have been hacked on Friday. A couple of tweets with oddly framed pop culture references were sent out from HotStar’s account, though the company has not responded to the breach.
Over the past few weeks, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar and liquor baron Vijay Mallya had their accounts hacked into, allegedly by a group called Legion. However, Legion has not claimed any links to the HotStar hacking.
On November 30, a series of expletives were sent out from Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account. A message posted by Legion through Barkha Dutt’s Twitter claimed that it had also accessed the journalist’s email account and would make her private messages public.
