West Bengal: Two dead after gunmen open fire at Trinamool Congress office in Kharagpur

Three people died after unidentified gunmen opened fire at a Trinamool Congress office in Kharagpur, West Bengal, on Wednesday. Three others were injured. TMC councillor Pooja Naidu’s husband Shrinivas, 27, and 25-year-old Dharma Rao died, Hindustan Times reported. Naidu was declared dead after being taken to a local hospital.
Two attackers on a bike rode up to the office and fired at party workers at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday. According to reports, their faces were covered and the police have not identified them yet. India Today reported that the men also hurled a bomb at the office. Investigators have not yet uncovered what their motive was, either. Police have been deployed in the area, which is in East Midnapore district.
