The Supreme Court has set up a panel of experts to find a way to block videos of rape and child pornography from being uploaded on the internet, reported IANS. The court ordered the formation of the committee on Wednesday.

The panel will comprise central government officials and representatives of Google India, Yahoo India, Microsoft Corporation (India) Ltd and Facebook. It has 15 days to come up with a solution. The court will hear the case next on April 20.

On December 5, 2016, the court had issued notices to Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and Facebook, seeking their replies to a petition demanding an end to uploading and sharing content related to sexual offences on the internet. The petition was filed by NGO Prajwala, which is based out of Hyderabad.
