Maharashtra: Instructor and trainee killed after aircraft crashes into Gondia river
The Mumbai Air Traffic Controller lost contact with the DA42 aircraft at around 9.40 am.
Two people were killed on Wednesday after the training aircraft they were travelling in crashed into Maharashtra’s Gondia river, PTI reported. The victims have been identified as the instructor, Rajan Gupta, and trainee pilot Shivani, officials said.
Officials told the news agency that the Mumbai Air Traffic Controller lost contact with the DA42 aircraft at around 9.40 am. While the crash took place in Vidarbha’s Kirori Tehsil, the oil spill from the aircraft was also visible in the Wainganga river at Mahalgao-Deori in Gondia.
