UP: IAS officer found dead near a guest house in Lucknow
Anurag Tiwari, a 2007 batch Karnataka cadre, was staying at Meerabhai Guest House for the past two days.
An Indian Administrative Services officer was found dead in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area on Wednesday morning. The body of Anurag Tiwari of 2007 batch Karnataka cadre was found on the road near Meerabhai Guest House where he was staying for the past couple of days, reported Hindustan Times.
Hazratganj police station Inspector AK Shahi said some people spotted the body and informed the police. He was a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich. Tiwari’s identity was ascertained from an identity card recovered from his belongings.
Senior police officers said an investigation was under way. Inspector Shahi told Hindustan Times a preliminary examination confirmed an injury on his chin. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
