London teenager faces trial after carrying out five acid attacks in under two hours
The boy, along with an accomplice, are accused of targeting men on mopeds in the city’s north and east.
A 16-year-old boy in the United Kingdom faces 15 charges in five acid attack cases the London police have been investigating since Thursday. The attacks took places over a span of 90 minutes in the city’s north and east. The accused’s identity has not been revealed as he is a minor.
The charges against him include grievous bodily harm, robbery, attempted robbery and possessing an item to “discharge a noxious substance” among others. He will appear before a juvenile court on Monday. Earlier on Saturday, the police had arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the attacks, but he was released on bail.
All five attacks were carried out against men on moped by a duo that was riding a similar vehicle. Two mopeds, among them one that belonged to an UberEats driver, were stolen. One of the victims sustained life-changing injuries, doctors said.
