Rapper Nelly arrested after woman accuses him of rape, later released
He will appear before a judge ‘at some point’, said a local police officer.

Rapper Nelly was arrested by Washington Police on Saturday after a woman accused him of raping her on his tour bus in a town near Seattle, AP reported. He was later released from jail without any charges, pending investigation, he said on Twitter.
The three-time Grammy Award winner, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr, will appear before a judge “at some point”, a local police official was quoted as saying.
Though Nelly’s attorney initially said he would perform in Ridgefield, Washington, on Saturday night as scheduled, his performance at the concert was later cancelled.
The attorney has claimed it was a “completely fabricated allegation”. “Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness,” the attorney, Scott Rosenblum, told AP.
Nelly will not be performing tonight.
