Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah on Sunday said that the “politics of violence” is in the nature of communists as he blamed the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the political murders in Kerala, PTI reported.

Shah led a march from Connaught Place to the Communist Party of India (Marxist)’s office in Gole Market as part of the BJP’s second leg of the Jan Raksha Yatra. Delhi BJP unit chief Manoj Tiwari, Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam and some Lok Sabha MPs also participated.

Shah had inaugurated the march at Payyanur in Kerala’s Kannur district on Tuesday. The 15-day event aims to highlight the attacks on Sangh Parivar workers allegedly by supporters of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he had said.

On Sunday, Shah said that the blame for most of the killings falls on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He alleged that most BJP and RSS workers were killed in the chief minister’s home district.

Kannur has been the hotbed of political clashes in Kerala. According to the police, there were 69 political murders in the district between 2000 and 2016, with 31 victims from the Sangh and 30 from the Left party.

Blaming communism, Shah added: “Politics of violence is in their nature.” “It is no coincidence that the maximum political violence is reported from West Bengal, Tripura and Kerala, where communists have been in power for long, he said. “Wherever they have been in power, they have turned the political culture into that of violence.”

The killings are brutal and the bodies are chopped into pieces, Shah said, adding that it is done to terrorise those who support the Bharatiya Janata Party, and to warn them that they will meet a similar fate. “But the more muck of murders they spread, the lotus will bloom better,” he added.

Shah also rebuked activists for their alleged bias and silence over communist atrocities. “Why do they not take out any march at the India Gate against the atrocities committed by the Left,” he asked.
