A former sarpanch was killed by suspected terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening. The man, Ramzan Sheikh, was shot at in Imam Sahib area of Shopian at around 8 pm, after which he was taken to hospital but was declared brought dead.

Sheikh was a Peoples Democratic Party worker, reports said.
