Hardik Patel’s aide asks Gujarat court to investigate his bribery claims against BJP
Narendra Patel had claimed that the BJP had offered him Rs 1 crore to join the party.
Narendra Patel, a convenor of Hardik Patel’s Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti, filed an application in a court in Gandhinagar on Tuesday, seeking a court-monitored investigation into his allegation that the Bharatiya Janata Party had offered him Rs 1 crore to join it ahead of the Gujarat Assembly election. The court will hear Narendra Patel’s plea on Wednesday, NDTV reported.
The Patidar leader said he had joined the BJP on October 22 only to expose the party in front of the media. He had joined the party in the presence of Hardik Patel’s former aide Varun Patel, who had also crossed over to the BJP along with another key aide, Reshma Patel.
“Varun Patel made a Rs 1 crore deal with the BJP for me,” Patel claimed at a press conference immediately after joining the saffron party. He spread out bundles of cash that were allegedly handed over to him. “He gave Rs 10 lakh in advance,” he said.
