The special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Delhi on Wednesday said the date of verdict in the 2G spectrum scam will be announced on November 7, ANI reported. The court had concluded final arguments in the case on April 26.

The bench also issued warrants to Unitech’s Managing Director Sanjay Chandra and Bollywood producer Karim Morani, asking them to be present in the court on November 7, reported ANI.

The court was hearing two separate cases related to the 2G spectrum cases. While the CBI is investigating one of the cases, the Enforcement Directorate is looking into the other one.

The CBI has said that former Telecom Minister A Raja, during the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance’s rule, had caused a huge loss to the exchequer as he had undercharged telecom firms for frequency allocation licences. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India had estimated the total loss to the exchequer from the scam to be around Rs 1.76 lakh crore.

Apart from Raja, Rajya Sabha member and Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam leader Kanimozhi, former telecom secretary Sidharth Behura, Raja’s private secretary RK Chandolia are also accused in the case.

All the accused are out on bail.
