Chhattisgarh announces CBI investigation into alleged sex CD case involving BJP minister
Reporter Vinod Verma had been arrested for allegedly using the CD to try to extort money from the state’s PWD minister, Rajesh Munat.
Chattisgarh on Saturday announced a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into a case connected with an alleged sex CD involving a Bharatiya Janata Party minister. On Friday, Chhattisgarh police had charged the state Congress chief in the matter.
The minister, Rajesh Munat, had filed a complaint against Bhupesh Baghel (pictured above) after the Congress leader said he possessed a copy of the CD, NDTV reported.
On Friday, a former BBC journalist Vinod Verma had been arrested for allegedly attempting to extort money from Munat using the CD. The Congress had condemned his arrest.
The state minister has denied being in the clip in the CD and has called it fake. He also accused the Congress of trying to malign him, the Hindustan Times reported.
