Kamal Haasan to tour Tamil Nadu before officially launching his party
The actor said it was important to strengthen the base and do the groundwork before floating an outfit.

The actor launched a mobile phone app for whistleblowers at an event in Chennai’s T Nagar neighbourhood on Tuesday. He said that as part of his groundwork for the party, he will tour Tamil Nadu and meet volunteers. “It is important to strengthen the base, before launching the party,” Haasan was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
The app will be a platform where people can “blow the whistle” on any wrongdoing. “We will strive to achieve justice,” the actor said.

Haasan said he was in no hurry to announce the name of the party.
On the controversy that arose after his remark that the Hindu right had started resorting to violence and terrorism, Haasan said: “I definitely do not want to hurt Hindu sentiments, as I myself belong to a Hindu family, but have taken a different path.”
