Punjab Police arrest the owner of the plastic factory in Ludhiana that collapsed
The civic body and the pollution control board have been asked to submit the licence and no-objection certificate given to the unit to use chemicals.
The Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested the owner of the factory in Ludhiana that caught fire and collapsed on Monday, killing 13 people, PTI reported. Six firemen were among those who died.
Inderjit Singh Gola, the owner of the plastic-manufacturing unit, is in police custody, Commissioner RN Dhoke confirmed.
Divisional Commissioner of Patiala VK Meena on Wednesday visited the site of the incident and the CMC Hospital, where two injured are undergoing treatment. He later ordered various departments, including the municipal corporation and the pollution control board, to submit the licence and no-objection certificate given to the factory to use chemicals.
