Mumbai on Monday got its first air-conditioned local train. The first AC local train left Borivali station at 10.30 am, and will travel up to Churchgate station.

The Western Railway has decided to run only six AC trains between Borivali and Churchgate till December 29, the Mumbai Mirror reported on Monday. From Tuesday, trains will leave Borivali station at 10.20 am, 12.24 pm and 2.11 pm. At Churchgate, the first train will leave at 9.30 am, followed by the second at 11.15 am and the third at 1.16 pm.

The AC locals will begin running regularly from January 1.
