Jammu and Kashmir: Soldier allegedly shoots himself dead in Kupwara, say reports
A case has been registered at Khurram police station.
A soldier posted at Kupwara’s Warnow area in Jammu and Kashmir allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle on Thursday, ANI reported. The soldier was identified as Sepoy Shankar Singh and was posted with 18 Rashtriya Rifles.
The soldier’s colleagues rushed to him after they heard the gunshot and found him lying in a pool of blood, Greater Kashmir reported, quoting unidentified police officials. A case has been registered at Khurram police station.
The incident comes a day after a soldier attached with the 30 Rashtriya Rifles allegedly shot himself dead on Wednesday morning in Handwara.
