Noida: Senior BHEL executive shot dead near his apartment
The police suspect it was a case of murder during a robbery since Amit Pandey’s watch, wallet and mobile phone were missing.
Unidentified people shot dead a senior executive of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on Wednesday night in Noida, the Hindustan Times reported. Amit Pandey was returning home from a metro station when he was fatally shot.
The police said Pandey may have been killed in the course of a robbery as his watch, wallet and mobile phone were missing.
The body of the 41-year-old deputy general manager at the BHEL’s Lodhi Road office was found less than a kilometre away from his apartment in Noida’s Sector 104, where he lived alone, on Thursday evening. Pandey’s brother-in-law had filed a police complaint earlier in the morning after he had been missing since Wednesday evening.
The police have found a bullet injury on Pandey’s body, and have filed a murder case against unidentified people. His body has been sent for autopsy.
