Kabul: At least seven killed, 22 injured in suicide attack
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
At least seven people were killed and 22 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up in western Kabul on Friday, TOLOnews reported. The explosion took place near a place where people were observing the death anniversary of a Shia Hazara political leader.
One policeman was among those killed, Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said, according to Reuters. The bomber appeared to have intended to attack crowds gathered in honour of Abdul Ali Mazari, the leader of the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, who was assassinated by the Taliban in 1995.
The explosion took place at a checkpoint about 300 metres from the gathering in Mosalla-e-Mazari locality. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
