Ola driver arrested after he drives 500 metres with passenger on car bonnet: Hindustan Times
The passenger and the driver had argued over keeping the luggage in the boot of the car at the Delhi airport.
The driver of an Ola cab was arrested after he drove 500 metres with a passenger on the bonnet, the Hindustan Times reported on Friday. The incident took place on April 2 at the Delhi airport.
The passenger, who had arrived from Port Blair with his family, reportedly got into an argument with the driver over putting his luggage in the boot of the car.
The driver asked them not to put luggage in the boot as there was not sufficient space because of the CNG cylinder, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (airport) Sanjay Bhatia. The passenger, however, insisted on doing so. “The driver then cancelled the ride and tried to leave but the man came in front of the car. The driver has been arrested.”
Ola said it had suspended the driver. “This is an unfortunate incident and we are investigating the matter,” an Ola spokesperson told the daily.
Bhatia said the passenger’s wife confirmed that the altercation was over the luggage, and that she was with their three children when the incident took place.
