Final results for 2017 UPSC civil services exam out, Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad is the topper
This time, 990 candidates were recommended for various government services.
The Union Public Service Commission on Friday announced the final results of its 2017 civil services examination on Friday. The results are available at upsc.gov.in.
Anudeep Durishetty of Hyderabad topped the exam, while Anu Kumari and Sachin Gupta secured the second and third rank.
Durishetty is a serving Indian Revenue Service officer. He cleared the examination with anthropology as his optional subject, and graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, Rajasthan, PTI reported. He has a degree in electronics and instrumentation engineering.
Lakhs of candidates write the civil services exams every year for posts in the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service. Candidates are recruited in three stages – a preliminary exam, a mains exam and finally, an interview.
The main UPSC examination was held between October 28 and November 3 last year, and the interviews were held from February. This time, 990 candidates were recommended for various government services.
