Tamil Nadu: VK Sasikala’s brother Dhivakaran floats new political party
Her nephew Dinakaran said he would not ‘waste his time’ by responding to the new outfit, which is called Amma Ani.
V Dhivakaran, the brother of former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam General Secretary VK Sasikala, floated a new political party, PTI reported on Sunday. Dhivakaran has been at odds with Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran, who had launched his own party, called Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.
Dhivakaran’s party is called Amma Ani. He said launching his party was like giving “a new lease of life to Amma Ani”, or Amma’s team. Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was referred to as “Amma”.
Adding to the discord in Sasikala’s extended family, Dinakaran said he did not want to “waste his time” by responding to the new party. “He is speaking out of anger and frustration”, Dinakaran said of his uncle.
Earlier, Dinakaran had said that while Dhivakaran was Sasikala’s brother, he had no ties with his party Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam. “Dhivakaran is angry with Sasikala. He is not visiting her in jail. But he is taking out his anger against me,” The Hindu had reported Dinakaran as saying.
