At least 24 people died on Tuesday in two explosions at a mosque in Mubi, a town in north east Nigeria. Hospital workers told BBC that the toll could rise, and that several people were injured. Many worshipers at the mosque were reportedly caught in the second blast while they were trying to flee.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, though locals have blamed the Boko Haram. The blasts come a day after Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari met United States President Donald Trump and discussed the threat that the terror group poses in the region.

This is the second attack at a mosque in Mubi in six months, AP reported. Fifty people died in an explosion at a mosque in the town in November.
