Two men allegedly raped a 26-year-old woman in a moving car on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway in Muzaffarnagar after throwing her three-year-old child from the vehicle, PTI reported.

The complainant said she was called by one of the accused, identified as RK Mehata, on the pretext of giving her a job. She alleged that Mehata along with his friend raped her after giving her some alcoholic drink laced with sedatives.

The woman was dropped from the car in Chapar area on the highway, Superintendent of Police (city) Ombir Singh said. She said she filed a complaint after she regained consciousness.

The police have registered a case against the accused, who are currently absconding. The woman has been sent for a medical examination.

Villagers took the child to a hospital. The child is said to be out of danger, PTI reported.
