Seven die as bus rams into parked lorry in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district
The lorry’s indicators were off and the bus was reportedly speeding.
Seven people were killed and more than 20 injured when the private bus they were travelling in rammed into a stationary lorry in Tumakuru district of Karnataka on Sunday night, reported Deccan Herald.
The accident took place on the outskirts of Sira when the passengers were returning from Singanduru Chowdeshwari temple in Shivamogga district. The injured have been admitted to the Tumakuru District Hospital.
The bus rammed into the lorry parked on the left side of National Highway-48. All the passengers, who were sitting on the left side of the bus, have either been killed or sustained serious injuries, the police told The Hindu. The lorry’s indicators were off and the bus was reportedly speeding.
A case has been registered at Sira police station in connection with the accident.
