Gujarat: Pilot dies after Indian Air Force fighter jet crashes in Mundra
A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the incident.

A senior Indian Air Force officer was killed after the aircraft he was piloting crashed in Mundra, Gujarat, on Tuesday, ANI reported. A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.
Officials said Air Commodore Sanjay Chauhan had taken off in a Jaguar fighter jet on a routine training mission from Jamnagar in the morning, but the aircraft crashed in a field in Beraja village at around 10.30 am.
“Today [Tuesday] morning a Jaguar aircraft on a routine training mission from Jamnagar crashed around 10:30 am,” Defence spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Manish Ojha said, according to NDTV. The villagers alerted the local officials after finding the debris, Hindustan Times reported.
A few cows grazing in the area were killed due to the burning debris, according to reports.

The incident follows the crash of an Indian Air Force microlight aircraft in Assam’s Majuli island in February in which two pilots were killed.
