Ten BSF jawans travelling from West Bengal to Jammu go missing, say police
The Government Railway Police have filed an absconding report and have started an investigation into the matter.
The police on Thursday said 10 Border Security Force personnel who were travelling on a train from West Bengal to Jammu have gone missing, ANI reported. The Government Railway Police at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar railway station have filed an absconding report and have started an investigation into the matter.
The commander first noticed their absence while conducting an attendance call at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar railway station. “83 BSF jawans were going to Jammu and Kashmir in a special train,” Sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar Yadav said. “Out of them, 10 jawans went missing somewhere between Dhanbad and Bardhaman without informing their commander.”
In February 2017, the Central Reserve Police Force had said 59 of its Commando Battalion for Resolute Action personnel had left for their homes without informing their supervisors. The paramilitary force had promised to penalise the the Cobra jawans.
