Jammu and Kashmir: Two CRPF personnel die after suspected militants open fire in Anantnag
Another soldier and a civilian were also injured in the attack.
Two Central Reserve Police Force officers were killed and another injured when suspected militants attacked a police party in Achabal town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. A civilian was also injured in the attack, PTI reported.
The two CRPF jawans who were killed were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector ML Meena and constable Sandeep. The wounded civilian was identified as Ghulam Rasool, Global News Service reported.
The injured officer was taken to the Army’s 92 base hospital in Badamibagh town of Srinagar, Greater Kashmir reported. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation launched to apprehend the militants.
The Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit has claimed the responsibility for the attack, according to GNS news agency.
