‘Not in this lifetime’: Arvind Kejriwal rejects Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh’s resignation
He had quit citing personal reasons.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh resigned from the party on Wednesday citing personal reasons. “My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has come to an end,” he tweeted.
Ashutosh said he had requested the party’s political affairs committee to accept the resignation. He reportedly handed over his resignation to Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal a few days ago, ABP News reported.
However, party chief Arvind Kejriwal rejected his resignation. “How can we ever accept your resignation?” Kejriwal tweeted. “Not in this lifetime.” Earlier, senior party leader Sanjay Singh said they will try to persuade Ashutosh to change his decision, reported NDTV.
Unidentified party leaders told the news channel that the former journalist was upset at not being consulted for the party’s major events and for not being given a Rajya Sabha ticket.
