Maggi clears new court-mandated tests
The Bombay High Court had told Nestle it could re-launch the instant noodles if they cleared a new set of tests.
All samples of Nestle’s Maggi noodles have passed new tests ordered by the Bombay High Court, reported PTI on Friday. The court had set aside a ban on the product by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and asked for new tests, saying the food labs that had tested the samples were not authorised. The court had asked Nestle India to conduct new safety tests on the noodles and re-launch the product. Maggi noodles had been banned by the FSSAI and the Maharashtra Food and Drug Authority for containing excessive lead.
