Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shahryar Khan said he was not optimistic about a series with India, a day after dozens of Shiv Sena workers barged into the Mumbai headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, protesting against his being there. Expressing disappointment with the BCCI, Khan said it was not a good sign that Pakistani umpires and commentators, who were part of the ongoing series against South Africa, are being forced to leave because of security concerns.

Earlier on Tuesday, Khan met Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla in Delhi. Shukla described the meeting as a “courtesy call” and condemned the Shiv Sena’s behavior, which forced the BCCI to reschedule Khan's meeting with board president Shashank Manohar. Khan is in India on Manohar's invitation to discuss the planning of an India-Pakistan cricket series in December.

“Storming the BCCI office and creating a situation where talks cannot happen is not right," Shukla said. "The series, whether it will happen or not, where it will happen, how it will happen, will be decided only after talks, if at all the talks take place. We should not jump to conclusions. Process of dialogue should be on. When that dialogue will happen is up to the BCCI president."
