If trade reports are to be believed, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Kapil Sharma’s debut film released last Friday had a thunderous weekend at the box office, collecting ₹28.81 crore. It’s been declared a hit. This means he can still retain the title of India’s funniest man. The picture just got bigger, from television, to the big screen.

But could this success be a fluke of his reputation as a funny man on television? His brand of humour has been on the wane lately, with critics accusing his television show, Comedy Nights With Kapil of being unfunny.

One critic goes on to suggest, ‘Kapil Sharma of “Comedy Nights” fame has excellent comic timing but his show is not always funny. Instead, it thrives on ugly stereotypes of misogyny and racism.’

Kapil Sharma might be suffering from an excess of his own show. Prior to the release of his film, he had to promote it on his own tele-show, giving the term ‘film-within-a-film’ a whole new spin.

Here are 5 times when Kapil's comedy hit the fan!
