Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits the screens on December 18 in the United States of America and in India on Christmas, and hopes are high with this one. The web is flooded with references, die-hard fans are swooning all over Twitter, Facebook and 9Gag, and blog posts are speculating about whether it will be better than the prequel trilogy. There are countless memes warning director JJ Abrams not to disappoint, or he will forever be known as “Jar Jar Abrams”, after the much-hated character Jar Jar Binks.

Not everybody is sold on the seventh edition – for every fan, there is a naysayer.

The animated comedy series Toon Sandwich, which parodies trailers of forthcoming films, spoofed the teaser for the new Star Wars movie and loaded it up with references to the Skywalker family tree that never stops growing and Abrams’ talents as a director.
