As the ninth season of Bigg Boss on the television channel Colors shapes up towards its finale, the producers have become very desperate. Facing much criticism for the lack of entertainment this season despite the entry (and subsequent departure) of various “wild card” contestants, the producers have played their final card – getting the very colourful fashion stylist Imam Siddique to enter the house in the penultimate week.
But it’s not just his wackily bizarre clothing sense that makes Siddique colourful. Siddique has quite a history with Bigg Boss – he is possibly among the most notorious contestants in the show’s history.
Siddique claims to be a casting director, choreographer and a stylist, among a whole lot of things on his official website. He was reportedly the person behind Jassi’s makeover in the popular television show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. He also hosted the show Style Addict on UTV Stars, where he would provide fashion tips.
Siddique had previously entered Bigg Boss in its sixth season (2012-2013), where he had a fight with fellow contestant Aashka Goradia and...started shedding his clothes! He stripped down to his bare essentials and started breaking house property before he was promptly kicked out. Since this is the crazy world of Bigg Boss, Siddique became quite popular with the viewers, finishing as one of the finalists and even got his own show on MTV called Timeout with Imam.
But that wasn’t the end of it. Upon re-entering the house for the ninth round, Siddique was up to his usual antics in no time. Apart from displaying crazy behaviour and fighting with almost every fellow contestant on that season, Siddique even passed outrageous comments about Shah Rukh Khan, claiming that Khan only became successful because Siddique cast him in an advertisement. That earned him quite a riposte from host Salman Khan (whose cold war with SRK was still allegedly on at the time).
Siddique’s propensity for making outrageous statements did not leave him – he first alleged that Salman Khan owed him money before taking another dig at Shah Rukh Khan, calling him a non-dancer.
Entertaining? Maybe. Irritating, oh yes!
